Our American university education allows students to grow their vocational interests grounded in more general education combined with technical expertise gained in management-oriented hospitality administration courses. Students engage faculty in an academically open environment which encourages inquiry and debate and challenges accepted practices and theories. UNLV students in Las Vegas or Singapore balance academics with active industry involvement, student clubs and community service.
UNLV Singapore offers a U.S. 120-credit Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Administration (with the major field of Hospitality Management). Undergraduate students generally attend classes full-time, taking the full recommended schedule of courses each semester. Students may be able to transfer in previous course credit and work experience that may count towards UNLV degree requirements. Students will study in Las Vegas for at least one summer session, at UNLV’s main campus. As part of the degree requirements, all students are required to participate in an internship within the hospitality industry and obtain industry work experience prior to graduation.
Polytechnic diploma holders from a hospitality track can earn their degree in as little as 2 years of year-round study at UNLV Singapore, others will require 3 years. They also have the opportunity to start in Singapore and transfer to the main campus to complete the degree or enroll in joint degree programs. This degree should be considered by those who desire the industry knowledge to begin their careers in the dynamic hospitality related sector, but also want the general skills to move into responsible positions in other fields or to obtain an advanced degree, such as a M.S./Ph.D., J.D. or Master of Hospitality or Business Administration in the future.
