Career Services Department offers assistance to undergraduate students with their 1000 work experience hours and internship during their study at UNLV Singapore. The department works closely with hospitality industry partners in order to find job opportunities for the students.
Important: See slides on Internship and Work Hours.
Work Experience Requirement
Students are required to obtain a minimum of 1000 hours of work experience prior to graduation. Students need to work part-time and obtain these hours through their own efforts, although career services department will provide ample information on job availability in Singapore’s active hospitality industry through the career services web portal.
The purpose of this requirement is to enhance the ability of a student to obtain a position in a desired field, therefore the work should be consistent with the career goals. To receive a credit, students must have the employer to verify the position and hours worked by completing the work experience verification form.

Hospitality Internship Program
All students are required to participate in an internship or attachment within the hospitality industry prior to graduation. The Hospitality Internship Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to relate current theory from the classroom to practical experience under the direction of professionals in extended work assignments. Students receive academic credit and a grade based on the completion of the required hours, on-site internship performance and assignments completed.
Students will be responsible for a variety of hospitality work related experience during the program and these attachments vary by company requirements but typically last three to six months. To satisfy the degree requirements, each student must secure an internship from an organization in the hospitality industry, which has been approved by UNLV Singapore.
Both local and overseas industry partners have supported The UNLV Singapore Hospitality Internship Program together with some hospitality establishments in the Asia Pacific region, UAE and USA. Click here to view the participating companies.
